BSc (Hons) Osteopathy, MS Psychology

Originally from the UK, Jennie is a Registered Osteopath and Psychologist specializing in the field of Performing Arts Medicine. After a career as a classical Ballet dancer, musical theatre performer, theatre and TV actor, and lead singer of a Big Band, she spent 10 years working as a clinician at the British Association for Performing Arts Medicine in London (UK) before relocating to New York City, and then to Los Angeles. She is a specialist in treating instrumental musicians, singers, dancers, and actors, focusing on injury prevention, rehabilitation, and return to performance. Jennie is on the Board of Directors for the Performing Arts Medicine Association (PAMA) and the Dance Resource Center, Los Angeles (DRC), is on the Health and Wellness Committee for the International Society for Music Education (ISME), and is an advisor on health to the Association for Electronic Music (AFEM). She is the Wellness Professor at the Colburn School in Downtown LA where she teaches a Musicians Wellness Course.

Jennie is dedicated to the provision of education on the subject of healthy practice in the performing

arts, and provides lectures and workshops internationally for performers, teachers, students, and medical professionals on the subject of injury prevention and management. She is an Honorary Lecturer for the MSc in Performing Arts Medicine at University College London for which she created the Musculoskeletal and Neuromuscular Injury syllabus. Her written work on performers’ injuries has been published in numerous international journals including Medical Problems of Performing Artists, Clinical Rheumatology, The Journal of Occupational and Environmental Health, and many more. Jennie is the founder of www.healthyperformers.com, and is the author of three books: The Authentic Performer: Wearing A Mask And The Effect On Health, The Embodied Dancer: A Guide to Optimal Performance, and Dancing Longer, Dancing Stronger. In addition to her Osteopathic practice, Jennie is a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional, and a Certified Mental Health Integrative Medicine Provider, and works from offices in Los Angeles, California.
