Cello2Cello
Cello2Cello is a spectacular offering of music and musicians, not to be missed! First we will share Musica notturna delle strade di Madrid (Night Music of the Streets of Madrid), Opus 30, No. 6, G. 324, a quintet for stringed instruments, by Luigi Boccherini. This piece will be familiar to movie buffs as it was featured in the Russell Crowe film Master and Commander! Next we present the famous and much loved Kreutzer Sonata by Beethoven. This masterpiece was arranged for a quintet allowing us to hear the nearly symphonic writing distributed among five voices. Some say the arrangement may have been penned by Beethoven himself!
